Happy Easter! Tony and I wish you a season filled with peace, joy, and beautiful weather. How about brunch at one of our favorite restaurants to celebrate the holiday with friends and family? Here are the spots Tony and I recommend.
Field’s Steak & Oyster Bar
When he wants to step outside of his comfort food zone (the omelet), I take Tony to Field’s Steak & Oyster Bar. Here he orders the steak sandwich, which I’ve had a bite of and don’t blame him! Stacked on fresh ciabatta bread is thinly sliced filet, caramelized onions, sauteed spinach, fontina cheese and garlic aioli.
I have two favorites:
- Crab Avocado Toast with lump crabmeat, poached eggs, avocado and lemon aioli.
- Seafood Benedict with Alaskan king crab, lobster, poached eggs, asparagus, hollandaise and beignets.
- We recommend reservations if you plan on Easter brunch at their Bay St. Louis or Biloxi location.
Salute’s Italian Restaurant
One of our Biloxi favorites for every meal is Salute’s Italian Restaurant, especially Sunday Brunch. Tony loves the ham and cheese omelet. He calls it an omelet on steroids with its prosciutto and cheddar cheese combination.
As an egg benedict fanatic, I love their Italian twist with poached eggs, prosciutto, tomato and basil hollandaise sauce on toasted ciabatta. Both meals include crisp bacon and cheese grits. These aren’t your average cheese grits either; they are extra creamy and flavorful with a combination of cream cheese and gouda. Top your meal off with a delicious Bloody Mary or Mimosa.
White Pillars On Beach Blvd. In Biloxi, MS
The farm-to-table menu at White Pillars encourages even the pickiest eaters like Tony to try different dishes. We both love the Mac & Cheese With Fried Chicken Skin Crumble and the Full Southern Breakfast with Farm Eggs, Hot Link Sausage, House-Made Bacon, Grit Girl Grits & Biscuits from the regular Sunday Brunch menu. Of course, Chef Austin Sumrall created a special menu for Easter. Here are our recommendations:
FIRST COURSE
- Susie – Beets and goat cheese with roasted beets, shaved beets, beet puree, carrots, radishes, candied pecans, arugula and pea tendrils.
- Tony – Gumbo Z’ Herbes with local greens, crawfish rice and fried shrimp.
SECOND COURSE
- Susie – Chinese Breakfast Pork with pork, Delta Blues Rice Grits, Braised Collards and a soft-boiled egg.
- Tony – Wood Grilled Strip with Potatoes Bravas, Roasted Garlic Aioli and Chimichurri.
THIRD COURSE
- Susie – Louisiana Strawberry Cobbler with a cornmeal crust and cream cheese ice cream.
- Tony – Flourless Chocolate Torte with candied chilies and caramel sea salt ice cream.
Depending on my mood, I order either a Bloody Mary with Cathead Vodka & House-made Bloody Mary Mix or an Irish Coffee with Jameson, Demerara Sugar, Coast Roast Coffee & Hand-Whipped Cream.
Cora’s Restaurant In The White House Hotel
We head over to Cora’s when we feel like being pampered on a Sunday. Their brunch menu includes a variety of specialties like my favorite, Eggs Walter. The flavors are spectacular, and the dish consists of petite filet mignon medallions, poached eggs, Louisiana Tasso bearnaise, Le Bakery rosemary bread and breakfast potatoes.
Of course, Tony is more traditional and always orders the Denver omelet. It combines ham, onions, bell pepper, mushrooms, cheddar and pickled red onions. Top everything off with a spectacular mimosa or, my favorite, a White House Coffee with Evangeline Praline and Plantation Rum, topped with chicory whipped cream.
Easter Sunday at Cora’s has an extra special menu sure to please everyone. Enjoy items such as scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes, grits, biscuits and gravy, French toast, bacon, sausage, assorted breads and pastries, debris casserole and three stations including a smoked salmon station, smoked prime rib carving station and a traditional Easter ham carving station.

Treasure Bay Infiniti Café
Tony and I dine at the Infinite Cafe on a regular date night at the casino. Yes, I love slot machines, especially the Buffalo games. Their daily buffet includes both Dungeness and Snow crab legs which we love. They also have whole lobsters several days a week, and the Wednesday buffet offers boiled crawfish.
Easter Sunday will include smoked brisket, carved ham, boiled crawfish, crab legs and more. This is an adult-only buffet, so if you plan on bringing the kids, I recommend one of our other favorites.
Coastal Mississippi offers a wide range of delicious fares, as you can see from just a few of the restaurants I’ve mentioned. Many more provide delicious and unique dishes, so you are sure to find even more favorites when dining on the coast.
